Che Parker

I spotted Che’s images appear in our Flickr pool recently and was instantly lured into a stream of feel good images that record his life in Australia and his various travels. I dropped him an E-mail to find out a little more about himself and his work…
“At this point in time photography is far from being an occupation. It’s still an amateur pursuit for which I have some professional aspirations. I’ve not formally studied photography, it’s something that has more or less progressed organically as a result of doing more than my fair share of travelling and from getting a spattering of compliments on my happy snaps.”

“Mostly it’s just disparate stories of people making a success of themselves through their passion, be that a passion for a particular skill or trade, or simply the passion of doing something well for the sake of doing it well, and whose success flows out not just to themselves but those around them. If your passion is making shit-hot coffee and you open a cafe so that everyone in your community can enjoy shit-hot coffee, I’m down. If your passion is telling stories of the untold, and you shine a light on some poor bastards being exploited by some big bad bastards, I’m down. If you’ve got a love for making quality kitchen stoves and the shifting of your manufacturing to a small, struggling southern town reinvigorate and revives that entire town (

), I’m so down. It’s any tale like that get’s me pumped to get at it.”

Che recently won first prize at the Independant Photography Festival so keep you eyes open for his work in an exhibition coming soon to Melbourne….

Kangeroo shot is excellent!
