45rpm

We recently received a photographic submission from 45rpm.  45rpm is a very talented individual based in OGA’s hometown of Bristol.  Unless you’ve been living under a  rock somewhere in the city and rarely venture out from underneath it you will have seen 45rpm’s graffiti on the walls of the city.  After becoming aware of his photographs we wanted to know a bit more.  This is what he told us:

“My name is 45rpm I paint stupid walls and take stupid photos.  I live and breathe in Bristol, but get itchy and travel as much as possible. Days off mean riding in one direction with a few cans of paint a mju-2 and a few Disposables to see what I can find. Ive always been the one that takes photos of what me and my mates paint, and from that are lives and the madness that goes along with painting. You find yourself in beautiful locations, usually at night when everything is quiet and lit beautifully, It made me realise I liked taking photos of these moments more then the wall I was painting. So now that’s the thing that makes me tick, getting the next best photo. Its hard to stay in at night knowing that there are photos out there, so photography has helped to push me more . I’m not a real photographer, I just point and shoot, but I want light leaks, I love blurry shots. I like that sometimes none of the photos on my disposables come out, its like painting a wall and not getting the flick. Sometimes it was better in you head anyway. “
