Mike Mitchell aka Lepid is a Bristol based photographer who we’ve had our eyes on for a while now. His approach incorporates experimental analogue techniques as he attempts to capture the ‘absurdity’ of the environment around him.
“I shoot 35mm, medium format and digital on a wide range of shitty cameras. I guess I owe a lot of the aesthetic of my photos to being skint, making do with what equipment I can afford, self-developing in caffenol and scanning shit without actually owning a scanner. Hopefully that doesn’t define my photography, although I’m not too sure what else does. I mostly like photographing people and anything with hints of absurdity, humour or sex to it.”
