Orfeas Sampatakakis
Orfeas Sampatakakis is a 23 year old living in Athens who recently contacted us to share his work, He has just graduated from film school where he studied film direction and is now involved with the creation of short films as a DoP and a Camera Man and directing his own short films.
After contacting us we wanted know a bit more about him, this is what he told us:
“My real passion is photography, practicing it makes me feel joy, and I always hope to achieve better artistic results. At this time I use only film for my shots, mostly black and white. I always carry a compact film camera with me when I don’t have my SLR.I have a preference for fine art photography, without rejecting any other photographic style. I have a great admiration for photography and art in general (contemporary and all that preceded us), after all we have to refer there to create.Finally I believe that because photography has a very easy technique everyone has to put his own (moral) limits and aesthetic rigor into it, which in other art forms is usually put through each technique.“
